Diamond W Wranglers

The Diamond W Wranglers started out in 1999 as the Prairie Rose Wranglers at the Prairie Rose Chuckwagon Supper on a cattle ranch near Wichita, Kansas. Since that time, they have taken western music from coast to coast and around the world.

In 2003 and 2004, the Wranglers hosted the Great American Cowboy in Concert at Carnegie Hall. In 2006, they became the first cowboy band to tour China. Among the highlights was the first official concert ever held on the Great Wall of China.

The Diamond W Wranglers have recorded dozens of albums, not only on their own, but as backup for other artists such as Rex Allen Jr, Dusty Rogers and Les Gilliam. One of their songs, sung in Mandarin, received airplay all across China.

Lead singer, lead guitarist and fiddler, Stu Stuart moved back to his home state of Kansas shortly before he helped start the Wranglers. He had spent years in Nashville playing in country bands. After one album on a major label, his group split up and Stu joined the Nashville cowboy band, J38 Land & Cattle Company.

Rhythm guitarist, Jim Farrell was born and raised in Nashville and grew up around the music industry. After playing various styles of music, Jim helped start the J38 Land & Cattle Company. He’s an award-winning record producer who owns his own recording studio.

Steve Crawford plays drums and percussion in the Diamond W Wranglers. He still lives on the ranch that has been in his wife’s family for generations.

Guitarist, “Tennessee” Jim Farrell loves the complex chord changes and close harmonies of Western Music. Lead singer/lead guitarist/fiddler, Stu Stuart comes from an entertainment background. The newest member of the Diamond W Wranglers is drummer/percussionist Steve Crawford, known as “Stevie C, the Rhythmic Cowboy.” They have a keen desire to see Western music grow, internationally.

These days the Wranglers base their operation at their own Diamond W Chuckwagon Supper at Wichita’s Old Cowtown Museum. Cowtown is a living history museum with more than 40 buildings that represent Wichita as it was during the days of the great Chisholm Trail. The century and a half tradition of cowboys in Wichita continues with the Diamond W Wranglers.
